Dear Alamosa Park Students, Parents, and Guardians,

Welcome to Alamosa Park Elementary School - A California Distinguished School! We are proud to work with your child and your family.

The following information will help guide you for an organized start of the new school year at Alamosa Park.

In order to find out the name and room number of your child’s teacher, you will need to sign up for the Aeries Parent Portal. If you have not yet Re-Registered through Parent Portal, please follow the guidelines posted below. 
If you wish to transfer to Alamosa Park Elementary from another school within VUSD (intra-district transfer) or transfer from a school outside of VUSD (inter-district transfer), please click here https://www.vistausd.org/cms/One.aspx?portalId=3644979&pageId=17159634 . 

First day of school: THURSDAY, AUGUST 15, 2019
Regular School hours (Tuesday – Friday):  8:00 a.m. - 2:18 p.m.
Monday Early 12:51 p.m. dismissal:  Every Monday is a minimum day which is designed for teacher and staff collaboration. School begins at 8:00 a.m. with dismissal 12:51 p.m. on Mondays. Additional minimum days with a 12:51 p.m. dismissal are Sept.11 & Feb. 5(Professional Development Days) and Nov. 12, 13, 14, 15 (Parent / Teacher Conference Days).

Back to School Night for Transitional Kindergarten & Kindergarten is on Wednesday, August 14, 5:30-6:30 p.m. We encourage you to bring your child in order to meet their teacher, classmates, and see their classroom. Childcare provided for this event. Here is the schedule:
5:30 – 6:15 p.m. - Teachers meet with parents in classrooms
6:15 – 6:30 p.m. – Teachers meet with students and parents in classrooms

Back to School Night for Grades 1 - 5 is on Thursday, August 22, from 6:00 – 7:45 p.m.This evening event is a great opportunity to learn about the instructional program your student will receive this school year. Here is the schedule:
6:00-6:40 p.m. Grades 1 and 2 – Parents meet in classrooms
6:45-7:00 p.m. Parent Teacher Association & Alamosa Park Educational Foundation Meeting in Multi-Purpose Room
7:05-7:45 p.m. Grades 3, 4, & 5 – Parents meet in classrooms

Kindergarten / New Student Registration

For Kindergarten VUSD offers two options. Legal age requirements for entrance into Kindergarten are as follows:

Kindergarten for children who turn five years old on or before September 1, 2019.
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) for children who turn five years old between September 2 and December 2, 2019.

In order to enroll at Alamosa Park the 
first step is to register online
AERIES AIR-Online Student Registration. Once you complete the online registration you will be prompted to bring to the Alamosa Park front office the following: a signed copy of the registration, Birth Certificate, Immunization Record, and proof of residence. Your registration is not complete until you visit our office with these documents. 
 

Returning Students / Parents
In order for your child’s registration process to be complete, every year you need to submit updated information to our front office through the re-registration process. Data Registration Days at Alamosa Park are next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, August 6th, 7th, and 8th, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Please begin the online Re-Registration process for the 2019/20 school year by logging on to PARENT PORTAL or click https://parents.vistausd.org/LoginParent.aspx?page=default.aspxAfter log-in, at the top of the screen you will see "You have not yet completed the Student Data Confirmation Process". There are five tabs to confirm information, starting with Family Information. Please follow the prompts and print out the emergency card when you are finished. Please know that you can complete the entire Data Confirmation process in the Alamosa Park front office.

On August 6th, 7th, or 8th, during Data Confirmation Days at Alamosa Park, please bring in the three required forms for each of your children to the Alamosa Park front office:

  • Emergency Card

  • VUSD Student Health History Form

  • Current proof of residence (one per family), such utility bill, mortgage statement, or rental agreement

Medical Information: If your child is authorized by a physician to receive medication at school, you will need to fill out the Authorization for Medication Administration form. Our front office has the medical authorization forms available. This form requires the physician’s signature.

The Alamosa Park front office is now open. Please call us at (760) 940-0700 or visit us during office hours (Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.).
