Welcome to Alamosa Park Elementary School - A California Distinguished School! We are proud to work with your child and your family.

The following information will help guide you for an organized start of the new school year at Alamosa Park.

In order to find out the name and room number of your child’s teacher, you will need to sign up for the Aeries Parent Portal. If you have not yet Re-Registered through Parent Portal, please follow the guidelines posted below. For registration information for students who are new to Alamosa Park Elementary, please see below.

First day of school

Please note:  Students who do not report to school the first day without prior approval from the Principal, could be dis-enrolled. Please make sure you contact the attendance office in case of illness. If you have any questions, please contact the front office for additional information (760-940-0700).

Regular School hours (Tuesday – Friday):  8:00 a.m. - 2:18 p.m.

Monday Early 12:51 p.m. dismissal:  Every Monday is a minimum day which is designed for teacher and staff collaboration. School begins at 8:00 a.m. with dismissal 12:51 p.m. on Mondays. Additional minimum days with a 12:51 p.m. dismissal are Sept.11 & Feb. 5(Professional Development Days) and Nov. 12, 13, 14, 15 (Parent / Teacher Conference Days).

Back to School Night for Transitional Kindergarten & Kindergarten is onWednesday, August 14, 5:30-6:30 p.m. We encourage you to bring your child in order to meet their teacher, classmates, and see their classroom. Childcare provided for this event. Here is the schedule:

5:30 – 6:15 p.m. - Teachers meet with parents in classrooms
6:15 – 6:30 p.m. – Teachers meet with students and parents in classrooms

Back to School Night for Grades 1 - 5 is on Thursday, August 22, from 6:00 – 7:45 p.m.This evening event is a great opportunity to learn about the instructional program your student will receive this school year. Here is the schedule:

6:00-6:40 p.m. Grades 1 and 2 – Parents meet in classrooms
6:45-7:00 p.m. Parent Teacher Association & Alamosa Park Educational Foundation Meeting in Multi-Purpose Room
7:05-7:45 p.m. Grades 3, 4, & 5 – Parents meet in classrooms

Kindergarten / New Student Registration

For Kindergarten VUSD offers two options. Legal age requirements for entrance into Kindergarten are as follows:

Kindergarten for children who turn five years old on or before September 1, 2014.
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) for children born between September 2 and December 2, 2014.

To enroll in our school the 
first step is to register onlineAERIES AIR-Online Student Registration. Once you complete the online registration you will be prompted to bring a signed copy of the registration (if you can't print it at home, we can do it for you), Birth Certificate, Immunization Record, and proof of residence. Your registration is NOT complete until you visit our office with these documents. It is important to register early to ensure placement. Alamosa Park front office opens Thursday, August 1, at 8:00 a.m.

Returning Students / Parents
You can begin the online Re-Registration process for the 2019/20 school year starting July 15th, by logging on to PARENT PORTAL. At the top of the screen you will see "you have not yet completed the Student Data Confirmation Process". This is where/how you get started, there are 5 tabs to confirm information starting with Family Information.  Follow the prompts and print out the emergency card when finished.  On August 6th, 7th, or 8th, during Data Confirmation Hawk Days (times to be announced), please bring the mandatory forms for each student:

Emergency card
VUSD student health history
Current proof of residence (one per family)
PTA release forms

If your child takes medication at school you'll also need the Authorization for Medication Administration form. We will have blank forms available, except for the Emergency Card. This needs to be printed by you. If you can not print at home we are happy to let you use our computers/printers. We are here to help, if you have any questions or problems, give us a call or stop our front office.
